With a fist full of credit cards, a lucky run at the track, and a drive to connect her community, Franco Stevens launched Curve, the best-selling lesbian magazine ever published. When Franco learns that Curve will fold within the year, she faces a crisis. She’s been away from the helm for 10 years due to a disabling injury which she kept largely secret. Franco now questions the relevance of the magazine and her own voice in the face of accelerating threats to the LGBTQ community. To forge a path forward, Franco reaches out to women working in today’s queer spaces to understand what’s at stake. Ultimately, Franco’s story offers inspiration as we face an uncertain future for LGBTQ rights where visibility remains one of our most powerful tools to combat discrimination.
